Sausage Kale Soup

Ingredients
1 pound uncooked Italian sausage (links or ground)
3/4 cup chopped onion
1 bacon strip, diced
2 garlic cloves, minced
4 cups chicken broth
2 cups diced potatoes
2 cups thinly sliced kale
1/3 cup heavy whipping cream

Directions
1. In a saucepan, saute onion and bacon 3 minutes or until onion is tender.  Add sausage and cook through.  Add garlic; saute 1 minute.
2. Add broth and potatoes; bring to a boi.  Reduce heat; cover and simmer 20 minutes or until potatoes are tender.
3. Add kale and cream to soup; heat through (do not boil).

I made this soup a lot this winter.
